Bodies On The Shore
Examining manmade materials and natural objects collected from the adjacent coastal environment, “Bodies on the Shore” combines these contrasting or parallel elements of form, to create a poetic narrative around micro plastics and waste. Images are produced through unique combinations of objects found along the Mexican, Baja shores, and desert landscapes, documenting their perverted forms within tangible narratives. The results are captured within a catalogue of cyanotype prints, made on location. Postproduction animation of these prints, and subsequent projections onto various surfaces, brings these mythical ghosts to life. Through headphones, a narrator poetically speaks of the conflicting relationships, forming between manmade materials and nature, from the past and present. A further installation and overhead projection of these combined found objects, enhances the viewers ability to study the unnatural remains.
